Specific Task:
Description: Volunteers are needed to help install water tanks, pumps and pipes at the VPWA Child Care Centre. The work at the orphanage will benefit the children and local staff. At the community where the orphanage is under construction, there is serious problems of water supply and in an effort to avoid water been delivered in small tanks to store for later use. We have already constructed a well on site(through the efforts of volunteers), but the water needs to be pumped into a tank and treated to make it safe for both drinking and cooking. The assistance of volunteers and specialised staff will really help to make a tangible and long-lasting difference to the lives of those to be staying at the orphanage. Volunteers working on VPWA projects in Ghana lives in Greater Accra and Eastern Region respectively. Confirm your project location with coordinator. Volunteers live in shared rooms. Couples are adviced to inform us in advance. The rooms have comfortable beds with pillows so no need to bring sleeping bags. There is fan. The volunteer apartment has kitchen with fridge. Toilet and shower facility available.
