INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY        

VPWA is launching a program in October 2009 designed to help micro enterprises in Ghana attained Internet presence in an initiative entitled, (Website for All). The program will be sponsored by VPWA and it shall organize Web design Volunteers from around the world to come to Ghana and participate.  This is our effort to help the ordinary small enterprise in Africa have a presence on the global stage and to improve their market share and alleviate poverty.

Volunteers can start applying to participate in the project from October 2009. Volunteers will be working from the offices of VPWA.  Below enlist opportunities available in Ghana under ICT

Available Positions

Web Designers Under VPWA’s Website for all projects, the movers and shakers of the initiative is webdesigners as they shall be the actual implementers of the initiative that is expected to help micro enterprises in Ghana have internet presence to market their products and services so as to help them access a sizeable global market and help curb rising poverty. Training /Facilitators’ VPWA intends to build the capacity of local micro enterprises to be able to edit and manage their own websites at anytime and the training of personnel’s from micro enterprises will have to be done by volunteers to be able to use this platform. If you have the skill to train people and will be able understand our web development platform, this will be an exciting opportunity. Apply

Marketing Personnel The project is to begin in October 2009 and as an on-going project project to benefit as many indigenous enterprises as possible, we are looking for persons who can volunteer their marketing skills to attract the pool of beneficiaries under the project to meet our target goals. PR/Communications Being a socially driven initiative by a reputable non-profit organization like VPWA, we anticipate to promote the project in the media and at the grass root PR/Communications personnel’s will be the face of this project and will work closely with the marketing team.  Apply

Requirements

· At least age 18 (no maximum age limit);
· Good knowledge in English language
· Strong commitment to values and principles of volunteerism;
· Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
· Ability to adjust in difficult living conditions

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

. Experience in Web designing and related fields of expertise as stated in the positions available on this project

Volunteers must arrange their own flights to Accra Airport (ACC). Please be aware that you should communicate your arrival date and time to Volunteer Coordinator. The following airlines fly into Accra:

Visa

You must obtain a volunteer visa for travel to Ghana. Once you have secured your place in the project and made deposit. We will send you a letter confirming your placement for your visa application.
