![]() VPWA is running an After-School Sports project for talented young people in the small community of Damang in Soccer/football. The idea for this project is to engage these young people in an activity that builds their physical strength while harnessing their talents and also getting them to understand issues related to HIV AIDs and other sexually transmitted diseases. The Project, the first of it kind in the community by an organization has helped young people under the project to be discipline and role models in their various homes. Volunteers shall work with the young people from 3:30pm to 7pm from Monday -Friday and occasional community soccer challenges on weekends.
Requirements: · At least age 18 (no maximum age limit); · Good knowledge in English language · Strong commitment to values and principles of volunteerism; · Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment; · Ability to adjust in difficult living conditions; · Strong interpersonal and communication skills . Volunteers working on VPWA projects in Ghana lives in Greater Accra and Eastern Region respectively. Confirm your project location with coordinator. Volunteers live in shared rooms. Couples are adviced to inform us in advance. The rooms have comfortable beds with pillows so no need to bring sleeping bags. There is fan. The volunteer apartment has kitchen with fridge. Toilet and shower facility available.
