Women Empowerment

Women's empowerment is broad and most of VPWA's projects on Human Rights, HIV/AIDS, Micro finance are
 mostly to do with women but this empowerment segment deals with the surviving challenges of an African woman in her bid for economic emancipation.

This project is taking place in Ofankor, Pokuase and Amasaman in Greater Accra Region of Ghana and Santrokofi-Bume near Hohoe in Volta Region of Ghana  and it affords an opportunity for you to assist a woman engaged in a micro enterprise in the day to day running of her small venture for economic emancipation. It is an opportunity to be directly engage with local economic activities and the struggle of women to have a share in local economy. It is also an eye-opening experience for you to understand the real african economy not the numbers on the Stock Market. Volunteer participating in Greater Accra Projects shall be living in Pokuase.



The on-going project in Santrofi-Bume near Hohoe in Volta Region however offers an opportunity for you to support women engaged in our Moringa Farm Project with record keeping and daily wage payments. You shall be assisting women in Moringa Processing and also on regular farming activities in the local community. A volunteer shall live in Hohoe if applying to  provide your time in the Volta Region.

There is no special skills required as one shall be trained on the job.

Requirements

· At least age 18 (no maximum age limit);
 · Good knowledge in English language
· Strong commitment to values and principles of volunteerism;
· Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
· Ability to adjust in difficult living conditions;
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
