Agricultural Projects

Farming provides the biggest area of employment in Ghana. VPWA is seeking to empower marginalised groups by creating agricultural projects within the farming sector. We are always looking for new opportunities to support agriculture and employment in Ghana. Below are some of the projects we have worked on, and if you would like to suggest a project or require more information please contact us.
Moringa Farm Expansion, Volta Region, Ghana
VPWA is working with Shape Lives, an indigenous Ghanaian organisation, to raise funds to expand an existing Moringa Farm near the village of Santrokofi-Bume near Hohoe in Volta Region of Ghana. The farm currently provides a livelihood for 25 women in the village. Expanding the farm will lead to the employment of more than 250 women in the district. This will provide the women with an income to feed their family and fund their children’s education.

Rubber Plantation Expansion, Western Ghana
Madam Agnes Kusi, a Board member of VPWA, currently employs ten people who work as rubber tapers on her 40 acre rubber plantation in Western Ghana. VPWA is raising funds to expand the plantation which will lead to the employment of an additional 30-50 rubber tapers from the local area. These projects can greatly increase the level of employment in a community which will provide women with ongoing income to support their family and lead to increased development in the region.
