Ripple Impact – Transforming our world
Volunteer Partnerships for West Africa (VPWA) has open applications for its new outreach project, titled Ripple Impact 2017. The volunteer driven initiative is expected to involve passionate and committed advocates of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to arrive in Ghana for a ten day, high impact project. Participants will be based in the small village of Damang, near Nsawam in the Easter Region of Ghana. Damang is 60km or 37 miles from the national Airport, Kotoka International Airport.
Ripple Impact is led by VPWA Founding Director, Hayford Siaw. Hayford is an experienced Ghanaian social entrepreneur who have supervised over 1000 international volunteers. He has travelled to 26 countries and is often invited by universities and organizations around the world to speak at events. He holds an MBA from University of Ghana Business School and also certificate in Leadership and Non Profit Management from School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University, New York. He is a Ford Motors 92Y International Fellow.

Projects & Expected Outcome of Ripple Impact 2017
- Literacy and Numeracy Skills Improvement Program with Street Library.
– 3 Communities reached
-150 children reached with over 80% gaining new skills
- Technology Skills Development at VPWA Youth Development Centre
– 20 Children Reached
– 80% or more exposed to new knowledge
- Climate Change Adaptation through improved farming.
– A demonstration 100×50 ft land space cleared
– 5 vegetables planted on the piece of land with produce for the benefit a local orphanage
– 20 individuals trained
- Primary School Education infrastructure Development (Harmony School Construction to serve 500 children)
– Contribute to at least 20% of unskilled labor needs
– Raised up to lintel, one classroom
– Begin the design on landscaping pitch for sports development.
Participation Conditions and Cost
It cost 597 GBP / 679 Euros / 779 USD to participate in Ripple Impact from 2nd September 2017 to 11th September 2017.
What do my Fees Pay For?
Registration Fee (Non-Refundable) – administration costs, Visa Support letter, 24/7 emergency support from VPWA, programme marketing costs, pre-departure information, travel costs to inspect programmes.
Programme Fee – airport transfer (pick-up only), orientation, supervision, accommodation and daily meals (dinner) during volunteer placement period, in-country 24/7 volunteer support and in-country administration costs.
