Becoming a VPWA volunteer As a part of our activities, VPWA opens up opportunities for diverse groups of peoples including students, graduates, professional women and men to serve as VPWA volunteers and contribute to the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – a set of time-bound targets to combat poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and discrimination against women.   The VPWA programme recruits a great diversity of talents and offer these opportunities to:Professionals from various sectors and from any country who want to share their expertise with counterparts in a developing country (Ghana).  ApplyStudents and Graduates who want to serve on internships or as volunteers to gain experience from a developing world (Ghana) in any sector to meet their humanitarian aspirations or future career prospects.  ApplyRequirements and Benefits  Basic Requirements 

Since VPWA started recruiting volunteers in to the West African country of Ghana, volunteers have played more key roles in delivering development efforts. To become a VPWA volunteer one should fulfil the following minimum requirements:

 

· At least age 18 (no maximum age limit);

· Appreciable knowledge in English language

· Strong commitment to values and principles of volunteerism;

· Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;

· Ability to adjust in difficult living conditions;

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
