Mission Our mission is to assist the deprived communities in West Africa with solution oriented advice and engaging in which ever way that contributes in lifting up lives by empowering and equipping people, particularly young people and disadvantaged groups, as agents of pro-active change within local communities. We achieve this through experiential learning, training, cultural exchange and linking up with other organizations, companies and institutions to better the lives of those within our reach.
Objectives Our objective is to help achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDG's) initiated by the United Nations and reducing human poverty; fostering democratic governance; promoting sustainable education to reduce illiteracy; promoting energy and environmental policies; strengthening resources to prevent and respond to crises; and fighting diseases like HIV/AIDS, Malaria and others. VPWA's methodology of action is based upon the belief that disadvantaged groups must be recognized as agents of change. Thus, VPWA understands that its role is empowering and equipping people, particularly young people and disadvantaged groups, in order to engage them in their communities and help them to contribute to the welfare and development of their societies. |
