VPWA wins European Union grant award

Volunteer Partnerships for West Africa in partnership with Fraunhofer Portugal and Microsoft are implementing an initiative to bring

increased access to cultural resources while creating business opportunities for entrepreneurs. The initiative which is based on the widely successful Street Library Program in Ghana is titled ''ACP Street Libraries- Culture For All''. Implementation of Program commence in January 2014.

ACP Street Libraries will develop and upgrade an already quite significant cultural activity street libraries. The Action’s objectives are to facilitate and promote widespread access to reading, encourage cooperation and exchanges between artists from ACP countries, and preserve local literature and oral traditions by using digital technology and the creation of a mobile application.
