Special Needs Holiday Kids Club

Project Dates: 1st August 2012 to 29th August 2012 (Four weeks)

A project to support children with learning difficulties

VPWA organises an annual holiday club for children and teenagers who suffer from learning difficulties, such as Autism and Down’s Syndrome. These children face a particularly difficult time in Ghana. Most of them are not attending school, and they have very few opportunities to enjoy new experiences.

The VPWA four week holiday club will provide fun activities, such as arts and crafts and group games for the children.

We are looking for volunteers to be involved in all stages of the club. We would like volunteers to come to Ghana one week before the club begins to be part of the preparation and planing for the club.

This project would particularly suit anyone with interest in mental health or education. Experience of working with individuals with learning difficulties would be fantastic, but no experience is necessary.

This project will be running from 1st August to 29th August 2012.
